Stainless Shafting and its uses
Stainless Shafting is used at places where a fundamental transference of torque and motion is involved and is accordingly given different names. Following are some of the uses of stainless shafting:
- Axle – A central shaft that does not rotate and around which wheel or a gear rotates.
- Spindle – a central rotating shaft with which a gear or wheel is attached.
- Stub – A short shaft, part of a motor or an engine.
- Counter-shaft – A secondary shaft that is driven by a main shaft and from which power is supplied to the main shaft.
- Pulley – It is included in Stainless shafting
A Stainless shaft can also be made out from a hollowed out rod or hollowed tubing in order to minimize weight, allow internal support and sometimes to allow other shaft to operate through the interior.
